ABOUT THE EMBLEMS:

Light of Christ: The Light of Christ program is available to Tiger Cubs in grade 1 and Cub Scouts in Grade 2.

Parvuli Dei: The Parvuli Dei program is available to Cub Scouts in grades 3 through 5 and covers understanding Christian love, knowledge of the church and the home parish, and service.

Light Is Life: The Light Is Life Program is a five step study emphasizing the Holy Mysteries of Initiation, vocation study, Christian life style, and prayer. Alternate requirements are listed for Byzantine Scouts and Maronite Scouts. This program uses guided discovery (reading, doing, discussion, reflection and writing) to encourage learning in each of the following areas:

1. Introduction

a. Creation Reveals God's Presence

b. Signs and Symbols of the Church

c. Icons

d. Liturgy is Life

2. Initiation

a. Baptism-Chrismation-Eucharist

b. Kingdom of God

c. The Divine Liturgy

3. Healing

4. Vocation

5. Towards A Christian Life-Style

Ad Altare Dei: This program is designed specifically for Boy Scouts of the Roman Catholic faith. See "Roman Catholic" for details.

Pope Pius XII: The Pope Pius XII Award requires readings, discussions and commitment to Christian life, and examines vocation, responsibility to self and society, citizenship and response to faith.
