Type I Medals Compared

A side by side comparison. The 1949 was cast with an altered die. The PWLPF letters were removed from the front and the Newman Jewelers hallmark was removed from the back. It was the only one ever issued like this and was the last Type I medal issued. There is a twin to it that was never issued to anyone but managed to find it's way into a private collection.
