1949 Hornaday Medal Front

1949 Hornaday Award

This is a one of a kind. The die was altered and had the P.W.L.P.F. letters removed as well as the jewelers hallmark on the reverse side. This was the only one ever awarded although there is a twin to it that was never awarded but made it's way into a private collection. I labeled this one the Type I-B. The 1943 is the Type I-A as is the one (1941) previous to it.
