Our troop has camped at Gerber, and the Waterfront, and the New Cope Course is just awesome. My recommendation is of the highest for this camp. Our troop committee is talking about going back to Michigan camp Gerber in the year 2001.

Gerber Scout Camp (As the camp is now referred to) is one of the fastest growing camps in the nation. It's numbers are not huge...but its size does not allow them to be. If you compared the numbers of 2001 to the 1998 numbers, you will be amazed.

The growth can be attributed to a staff that cares about every child, a program that takes emphasis from the merit badge and puts it on having the best summer of the child's life. Success can also be credited to the council's new Scout Executive, who has turned the camp around.

The Order of the Arrow is very visible in camp, and one of the main reasons the camp's facilities are top notch.
This camp sees more and more out of council troops every summer...and they keep comming back!

Certainly worth a look if you are a troop looking for a new camp!

Other Camps pale in comparison to the Gerber experience that we had! The programs are well planned and detailed. Our leaders and boys understood everything that was laid out for the week and the staff was very involved. The food was plenty -- best camp food we have ever had and they NEVER ran out. The boys were entertained and educated. This camp had a plan for everything wethere it be how to handle scouts who might get home sick to "songs" to cahnt on the way from one destination to another. I can not rave enough about the outstanding job this camp is doing. Outstanding facilities and wonderful terrain. All our boys LOVED it and will enthusiastically return -- plus it was a big selling point they used to enlist more friends to join scouts so they get to go next year -- Bravo Gerber!!

I have been to a few Boy Scout and Cub Camps -- Gereber is by far one of my favorites. There is no match for a well run organized camp tht balances fun and learning in a week. The staff is VERY attentive and hands on with the boys. They are entertaining as well. There is thoughtful details added to every program. A MUST try camping experience.

Our Troop did summer camp at Gerber last year and everyone loved the camp. The waterfront is fantastic and the staff is great. We enjoyed the new dining hall and the relatively flat sandy paths between locations. We go to a different camps each year and Gerber is definitely on our list for a repeat visit.
