Hike to Deep Creek and enjoy a cool refreshing swim. Challenge yourself at our C.O.P.E. Course. Practice your marksmanship at one of our ranges. Scale our Climbing Wall. Make a neckerchief slide at the Handicraft Lodge. Reach for the stars in the clear night sky from atop Astronomy Hill. Warm your spirit at one of our campfires. Sing. Laugh. Eat in our new Speed Donaldson Dining Hall. Earn a Merit Badge…or two, or three. Swim a mile. Ride a mountain bike. Join our Photo Safari. Smile. Create memories that will last a lifetime.     I would like to thank your Camp Director Marcie for her professionalism and compassion. As a past staff member from the Camp and Cabrillo I called upon your council last night.

    You see, my son and his troop are scheduled to go to Mataguay next week. When we heard that Mataguay was evacuated yesterday afternoon due to a fast approaching fire, I contacted your camp to see if we could get in next week as a "contingency plan".

    I not only received a call back from Marcie within 1 hour, but she then called a second time after reviewing her camp count, and was reasonably confident that they could accomodate us next week if necessary!

    Marcies comment to me that she "did not want our scouts to miss out on a camping experience" truly reflected the Helpfulness of the scouting community. I was reminded of the spirit of Lake Arrowhead Scout Camps and why we were drawn back each year to serve on staff.

    While we are still not sure of the status of Mataguay at this moment, please extend my heartfelt thanks to Marcie.

    I've been to FLSR 2yrs. in a row but unfortunatly my troop has decided not to go back...%( so i'm gonna be a counsaler instead. i love FLSR and always will

    Forest Lawn Camp Reservation is the BEST camp I have been to. It has great new facilities. The best staff (2008) I have seen in years. They really do apply the scout motto, oath and law into everything they do. Classes were taught very well, if there was a problem or concern they would fix it immediately. I loved the Staff Nicknames and how united they were. They were a true family, made you want to stay for longer. I also enjoyed their ongoing theme, we never forgot what the theme was, which is hard to say about other themed camps. A great group of thespians from opening campfire to The Shot Out Show(which was the best) to closing campfire, where we saw the closing slideshow, which made four of my scouts cry during final goodbyes. I really regretted to see that Marcie was not the Reservation director, for she did an incredible job. But the staff did great regardless. Great program guys! I will be back with my troops for many years to come.
    I would like to especially thank;
    Riptide, Chupacabra, Mattress, Baloo, and Barney, for all of their great help from teaching to program to any little thing I needed help with. I would just got to them with other leaders and my problems were resolved. Thank you all!

    In 1968 I and 7 other scouts attended 'Cedar Camp', sounds a lot like this camp. We has swimming, horse back riding, shooting and archery. We lived in cabin tents 4 to a tent, great meals. If they did it you could get a merit badge in it. Was the best 2 weeks. I never had kids but we support the scouting programs. We love are BSA X-mas trees and GSA cookies. Thanks
