There is something very special about an island. An island is a place apart, a unique location for adventure beyond the shores of your neighborhood. The Boy Scouts of America, San Gabriel Valley Council, invites you to Camp Cherry Valley on beautiful Catalina Island. Come away for a great weekend or a fantastic summer camp experience. The sea voyage, island exploring, water sports, camp programs and new friends will provide many happy memories to help campers chart a good course through the waters of their future.
Camp Cherry Valley is an adventure by sea and by land. Campers enjoy a wide variety of fun activities challenging them to develop new skills which build self-confidence, teamwork and future recreational interests. Campers can try sailing, Kayaking, hiking or the underwater nature trail. Working on craft projects, archery and merit badges are among some of the favorite camp activities.

Santa Catalina Island is a fantastic site for a camp adventure. Imagine exploring the same places where Island Indians, Sailing Pirates, Silver Miners and Civil War Soldiers once lived!!

Camp Cherry Valley operates as a summer adventure camp for nine weeks each year. Many lucky campers and leaders from across the country have the chance to be a part of this unique program each season. Plan to join the adventure where building for a happy and productive future is an exciting experience at and a personal commitment to campers from the Camp Cherry Valley Staff.

Camp Cherry Valley is also available to scout groups, school classes, business leaders and community organizations for weekend meetings or special conferences.

When my husband was Scoutmaster, he took our Scout Troop to Catalina Island's Camp Cherry Valley back in 1999. Everyone loved it there! They didn't want to come home. It was an island paradise. The activities were great! The food was nutritious! The staff was wonderful!! The Scouts spent 80% of their time IN the water!! We're saving up to go back as soon as possible.
Thanks for the memories Camp Cherry Valley!! Dan & Nancy Nielson, Troop 1, San Bernardino, CA.

Camp Cherry Valley is the best! Our scouts had a great time and they never complained about the food. The ACE program for the boys 14 and older is awsome! The staff is second to none. There is something for everyone. Troop 60 Clovis, CA

Our troop just returned from Camp Cherry Valley, this was their second time at CCV and just like the first visit they enjoyed it so much they wan to come back next year. My husband is the Scoutmaster and this was his first time there he also had a wonderful time. They spent 90% of their time in water unlike Monterey Bay Water the ocean was nice and warm. What a great place to go. Rita Semeniuk Outdoor Committee Chair Troop 232 Salinas, Ca

My troop went to CCV this summer. I have been to 6 camps as Scoutmaster, and this was far and away the best scout camp experience I have every had. The Staff, facilities, activities, food. The waterfront was amazing, with sailboats, hobie cats, windsurfers, canoes, kayaks and war canoes. They must have 90 ocean kayaks. The ACE program for age 14 and up scouts is awesome.

My troop went there in 2006 and it IS the best camp in CA! The staff is like no other and the food first class. I cannot put in words how much my boys loved this camp except that we have a reservation again for the soonest we could get back in and plan to make it our main camp. My troop is based near Stockton, but we would walk to this camp to go again.

Glad to hear Camp Cherry Valley is still going strong. I went there as a scout back in 1980! :)

When my Troop went to Cherry Valley I was our SPL and as a Leader this camp was simply Amazing. Daily competitions with other troops via inspection, all those lovely beads, a great program and What truly inspired me was the Lore and personal connection our Troop's adviser made with me. I won't ruin it, but it was simply amazing.

My Troop, 380, from Sacramento, CA went to Cherry Valley in the summer of 2009. It ofered many ocean/water merit badges and activities. Halfway through the week all of the merit badges close down and your troop chooses an "adventure" to some other part of island. Plus you leave from the port of LA so it is really close to LA and the theme parks.

An old timer here. Went to CCV back in 1966 and it my best Scouting experience!Loved the war canoes. Evening formation for "To the Colors". Flashlight Wars and Capture the Flag. On our Silver Peak trek most of us quit early and went to the isthmus instead. En route one guy fell off the path and rolled down the hillside through all that cactus. Ouch!
