Notes and Comments

One thing that I believe to be the case for BOTH Outlook 2000 AND Outlook Express 4.72 is that they will automatically respond to an email in the format of the original email. Thus, if you are responding to list mail which was properly sent in plain text you will respond in plain text regardless of what your default setting is for your outgoing email according to the instructions I sent.

Also, despite the default settings, you can change the settings for a particular message. So you can set something else for your default as long as you REMEMBER to change it to plain text for any list mail you originate. I believe this will work except in the case of Outlook (like I am using now) if you have set the default to use Microsoft Word as your email editor. You then cannot change the format for an individual message. -- Bruce E. Cobern
