PRE-OPENING ACTIVITY Covered Wagon Inventory
List Work in groups of three boys. Tell them they are getting ready for a trip across the Plains and need to equip their covered wagons. Give them a piece of paper and have them list items they think the pioneers would have taken. An alternative: they might make two lists - one for the 1800's time frame, and one with current day items which would have been nice to have. (Radio, road maps?) How many words of two or more letters can you make from the words, "Cowboys rode long and hard on the rodeo trail"? |
